I do not print Evelop so I know how this works, but for now I have this car since March 2006, and had no problems until today. I got an error code for the paper tray that I made about $[...]…. replace a big problem. Then, shortly after I replace a new error code for Fuser says. Now the fuserdear … About U.S. $ $[...]! So it is in my interest, just a new computer. Buy another like this and bring in a box, finished my. Probably the printing and scanning at least 1,000 pages a day, so this unit has really got up to my abuse. I must say that I would like the toner is cheaper. I usually buy the toner high yield, which runs $[...] me about a month. great car for the money, and I recommend it. Oh, another thing, I use occasionally to scan colorPhotos and the scanner is working for the largest. The pictures look great. Probably not what you use if the scanned images for a living, but for the occasional e-mail or post online is great.

I really like this printer. I use a PC with Vista 32-bit and it was easy to install. Copies are to do something complicated and the scanner stopped working after about two years of continuous use, but the laser printer is fast and reliable. Once I replaced the battery in three years, which was not cheap. All said, I will probably buy another Brother printer, but no MFC.

We have our MFC-8640 for about four years ago and asked to write a review under the "Wiz Kid" helped me solve the toner sensor fault. We have more or less perfect, Since we bought it and I recently put in a print server, purchased separately relief that the use of the home network Entire worked. It's called "flashing" light a bit 'when you start, but I think it is in sleep mode most of the time, so it is a nuisance. 33K fax is faster than some of the newer models. Thealternative source of paper is a mystery, and we have no printing on envelopes. Occasionally we print labels with the tray. Scanner works well, even color copy to B / W. And as the two-sided printing is mentioned large.
BTW – the toner sensor "eye" is on the wall of the toner / scooters cavity on the right side, there is a small black plastic lens built 3 or 4 cm from the front. Fixyourprinter dot com & Black Tape my fix. Saved me $ 100 USD. Buy your toner from Amazon.

When I bought this printer, so my husband could not stop to get to know me a hard time. After all, I had to work very well a scanner and printer at that time. What I wanted was a flatbed copier / scanner / fax and a printer. After I had the car my husband was using it for all its needs Photocopying. It is never glad I bought this machine.
COPIER
'S so easy to use. As a copier functions as would any standard copier. Just paperon the glass, close the lid and press the button. Voila. copy quality is very good, and there are copies in color, of course.
There is also the task of feeding paper on top of the printer when I copy multiple pages. Just place the battery on top of the machine and let it feed on each side by, as are the copier Copy Center!
SCANNER
Scanning has never been easy. I can not only analyze the control of my computer, I can only print on the scanThe printer itself, it will automatically scan and send it to my computer. I can send the scan to my computer as a file or a photo or e-mail or OCR.
PRINTER
This is a card reader on the printer itself, Compact Flash, Smart Media, Memory Stick, xD-Picture Card and Secure Digital cards law. You can switch off the map. I tried with Compact Flash, but it was too slow, so I do not use this function. I prefer to read the card from my computer and send filesmy printer.
The bright pictures are printed. Just use high quality paper for best results. I like the way they look smudge no problem with the color or ink.
File and print great graphics as well. I am satisfied with the quality and print speed of the printer.
Fax Machine
I use the fax feature from time to time and it does its job. Printing faxes and receives significantly
SUMMARY
This is my favorite printer.All functions as promised, with great quality.
This is a networking function, I can use, but I hope that one day, and I considered this when I update.
Since the question of ink, the ink is consumed, even when printed. It does, provided that the automatic cleaning function. I must say that I have had printers clogging when not in use, so I think that this printer is good clean from time to time to maintain their function. If youtake a little ink to do, then this is a price they are willing to pay. Better than not being able to print when I need it.
The question of whether a color printer does not work is valid. However, I find a problem, more ink available. I'm not so expensive.
Overall, a high quality product and a great buy.
